12th November 2020 (from 9h15 to 16h00), this year, exceptionnally, totally

Financial Risk and Stability (FRS), located in Berlim.
A whole decade passed since the major International financial crisis, the financial sector is facing another systemic crisis, this time caused by the current Covid-19 pandemic. We intend to analyze, as always independentelly and critically, the way reforms have meanwhile been introduced in the financial sector, how it has been prepared in order to ensure a higher resilience to this new systemic crisis and safeguard financial stability which will be serisously tested, also the way the realization, even if still incomplete, of the European Banking Union and the constructionof the EU Capital Markets Union can contribute so the EU and Portugal can overcome the current crisis.
The participation of, among others, the Vice-President of the ECB, Luis de Guindos; the Governor of Banco de Portugal, Mário Centeno; the President of CMVM Gabriela Figueiredo Dias; or the Presidents of the 3 European financial supervision Authorities – ESAs (EBA, EIOPA e ESMA) - as well as renowned experts, the Vice Governor of Banco de Portugal, Luís Máximo dos Santos, e the Adminstrator of Banco de Portugal, responsible for the prudential banking supervision, Ana Paula Serra, will ensure optimal conditions to discuss those topics.
